Philanthropic and Academic Grants

Today the RBBS is still helping Belgians in need living in the UK. The RBBS charity trustees offer two categories of funding:

  • Modest one-off philanthropic donations to Belgians living in the UK who exceptionally face a difficult financial situation. Belgian nationals, can apply for support by email explaining their circumstances and providing documentary evidence as to how much funding they need and what additional sources of funding are available.
  • Substantial financial help for young Belgian graduates who have received an offer for a one or two year post-graduate course at a Higher Education Institution in the UK and are struggling to find the final  tranche of the course fees. Applications must be received before the 28th February deadline.  RBBS grants are awarded annually at the beginning of June.  All RBBS Scholars are expected to take an active part in the activities of the RBBS and to help with the Society’s fundraising mission.

In  cooperation with the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine, RBBS has recently created a special Scholarship to enable a Belgian postgraduate student who for financial reasons would not otherwise have been able to take up a place offered by the School. Interested applicants are advised to review the eligibility criteria and to complete an Application Form (pdf).
These should be returned to the LSHTM Scholarships team by February 28th.

Please read our eligibility criteria before submitting your application.
